New Bible Study Session Starts Feb. 19, 2020
Opportunities for Spiritual Formation in 2020
The major ministry goal in 2020 for both Swords and Fork Chapel congregations is to provide our members with opportunities for spiritual formation and growth as disciple of Jesus. To achieve this goal, we are offering at least three seasonal small group studies: one each during the Epiphany and Lenten/Easter Seasons, and one in the Fall.
Lent and Easter Study
Five Essential Practices of the Christian Life By Adam Hamilton
How do we walk with Christ—daily follow him, grow in him, and faithfully serve him? Join Adam Hamilton this Lent and Easter in The Walk and discover five essential spiritual practices rooted in Jesus’ own walk with God. In each chapter, Hamilton’s engaging teaching style will help you explore one of these practices—each of which is intended to be a part of our daily walk with Christ—its New Testament foundation, and its potential effect on our personal lives and our lives together as the church. The five essential practices are:
- Worship and Prayer
- Study: the importance of listening and paying attention
- Serve: Here I am Lord, Send Me
- Give: Where Your Treasure Is
- Share: Going Fishing, Reflecting Light
- The Five Practices from the Cross.
Sessions will meet at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesdays, Feb. 19, March 4, 11, 18. 25, April 1 at Fork Chapel led by Dr. Gavalas and Lay Servant Ron Hess. Each participant will receive a student book, a study guide, and a Prayer Journal and other resources.
Registration for this course is open now.
