Lectionary 2023 Daily Readings for Year A

The Revised Common Lectionary lists the scripture readings for each Sunday during Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Easter, and Pentecost. A reading from the Old Testament, the Psalms, the Epistle, and Gospels is designated for each Sunday. The Lectionary is divided into three years designated as Year A-Matthew, Year B-Mark, and Year C: Luke. Readings from the Gospel of John are covered during Lent and Easter each year. This way the major teachings and theme of the Bible are covered over the three year period. Most all Christian denomination join together in following the readings of the Lectionary. This means that the scriptures we read on a given Sunday are also being read by Christians all over the world.

Year A of the Lectionary starts Thursday, November 24, 2022 and ends on Wednesday, November 29, 2023

At Fork Chapel, readings will generally be taken from the Lectionary suggestions.
