About
Fork Chapel is a United Methodist Church Congregation.
Our Mission –
“The mission of the church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the
transformation of the world.” (UM Book of Discipline Paragraph 120)
Through out our history, Fork Chapel UMC has stood as a beacon of God’s light in our community and beyond, impacting the lives of people through the power of Christ’s transforming grace and love. It is our mission to continue to work as a positive agent of hope and change.
Our Core Values
Lifting up Christ– making a real difference in our community and world
Our Core Values serve to focus and unite our efforts through LIFT
Loved people lift people – (We love)
“We love because God first loved us” 1 John 4:19 Jesus said, “Love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength and your neighbor as yourself” Mark 12:20-31 We are committed to following Jesus’s Great Commandment to love God and all people. We rise by lifting others.
Inspired people include people – (We Welcome)
“Welcome one another just as Christ has welcomed you for the glory of God.” Romans 15:7 We are called to be faithful to Jesus’ example of radical hospitality to all persons. We joyfully welcome persons of all ages, stages, and walks of life.
Fulfilled people are faith-seeking people – (We Grow)
“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.” 2 Peter 3:18 Only through faith in Christ can we live fulfilled lives. As disciples of Jesus Christ we strive to practice Christian discipleship so that we are continually growing in grace and knowledge through daily prayer, weekly worship, small groups, serving, giving, and witness.
Transformed people transform communities – (We Serve)
Jesus said, “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve, and to gift his life as a ransom for many.” Mark 10:45 We believe there is no greater calling, purpose, or fulfillment than living as a Difference Maker, carrying on Jesus’s mission of transforming the world, one person and one community as a time.”
